Here are
some testimonials from family members and teachers who participated
in the first annual EDINA UNPLUGGED - March 2006: |
They
had family dinners, cooked together, played games, played in the snow,
and read together. My favorite comment was from one girl who said “I
think that was probably the best night I had with my family. I think
we should have Edina Unplugged every month.” By my tally
it was a huge success. - 3rd grade teacher
A
person I know was making calls on Friday night to try to get some people
to go to a political meeting to be held the evening of March 13. Some
on her list were from Edina and said "I can't go on March 13, it
is Edina Unplugged". -Parent
We
thought it was a great idea and may do this in our house once a month.
Our 4 kids really enjoyed playing outside in the snow and using their
imagination to find creative things to do. We made a special dinner
at the kids request. We would definitely participate in this
event if it became an annual tradition in Edina. Thanks! -Parent
Having
no homework on Monday was awesome! My family (not including my dad-
he was on a business trip) sat down after talking and ate LeAnn Chin,
we hadn’t done that in a long time! After dinner we went over
to our neighbors, met up with another family and had a board game tournament
(I lost). It was really fun! We all decided that we should do it again
soon. Thank you so much.
My
pizza party was a success. I invited 6 single seniors in the building
over and we had a great time! I have found that living in a building
can be somewhat isolating unless one works at it. This was a time for
connecting with neighbors and the conversation was lively. -Edina
